CU Phosco has commenced the installation of high-power outdoor floodlights on the Senator Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road, Ibadan, under a transformative infrastructure project embarked upon by the visionary administration of Governor (Engr.) Seyi Makinde.
The 110 km Circular Road is a major ongoing construction project designed to alleviate traffic congestion in the city and provide a bypass for travellers. The road is intended to encircle the city, linking various locations and facilitating easier movement of traffic. The project is divided into four sections: South-East, North-East, North-West, and South-West.
The light-up project has begun on three major highway intersections: Bridge 1 along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Bridge 6 along the Ibadan-Ife Expressway, both on the Circular Road, and the Onipepeye Interchange, which is on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway close to the Iwo Road Roundabout. All 43 high masts (each standing at 30 meters) are meant to significantly enhance roadway safety and visibility.
The CU Phosco team has successfully installed all the high masts at the three locations with final commissioning activities ongoing, marking a strong start of the expected long-term relationship between CU Phosco and Oyo State.
Oyo State Commissioners and members of the Ministry for Energy and Mineral Resources witnessed the installation of some of the high masts. Lee Sanderson (CU Phosco Export Manager) and Bola Adebanjo (CU Phosco Regional Manager, Nigeria) were also there to support this important milestone phase of the project.
