At C.U. Phosco, we’re proud of the people who make our business what it is. Our average staff tenure is an impressive 14 years, and this year alone, over 30 members of our 165-strong team are celebrating more than 25 years with us.
Today, we’re shining a spotlight on Carey Norris, Logistics Administrator based in our Coleford team, who is celebrating an incredible 30-year milestone with the company.
Carey has previously featured in our Meet the Team series - if you’d like to revisit her career journey, you can read more here: Meet Carey Norris, Logistics Administrator | Career Story | CU Phosco
This time, we caught up with Carey to learn more about her role today and reflect on her three decades at C.U. Phosco.
CAREY, CONGRATULATIONS ON AN AMAZING 30-YEAR WORK ANNIVERSARY! TELL US WHAT YOU DO AND WHEN YOU JOINED CU PHOSCO.
I joined straight from college, first in a support administration role, which then quickly expanded into logistics, covering the management of customer orders for our Coleford Team, consignment stock, and transport co-ordination. I manage the shipment of all products from Coleford and support other areas of the business, such as marketing, to help with the safe and efficient shipment of products to events.
HOW HAS C.U. PHOSCO, AND THE INDUSTRY, CHANGED SINCE YOU JOINED?
When I first joined, everything relied on paper-based processes - from logistics and invoicing to order management. All ledgers were completed manually.
Now, with digital systems and advances in technology, our processes are fully integrated into our CRM system. It’s much easier to track everything, and we’re able to work far more efficiently and collaboratively with colleagues across our other locations.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT WORKING AT C.U. PHOSCO?
As I mentioned in my previous blog, it is the people. I’ve grown up alongside both colleagues and customers and learned so much from them over the years. The lighting industry seems to be one that people stay in for a long time across all departments and companies, with many becoming friends.
DO YOU HAVE ANY FOND MEMORIES OF YOUR TIME HERE SO FAR?
There are too many to mention! From evenings out with the Area Sales Managers and Sales teams, to working at exhibitions at the NEC in Birmingham, it has been a varied and enjoyable time! I have met lots of new people and made some great memories along the way.
Thank you for everything that you do, Carey. And congratulations on such a great milestone!
