CU Phosco Australia is proud to announce that its FL820 and FL830 LED floodlights have been added to the National Electricity Market (NEM) Load Tables for Unmetered Connection Points, managed by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). This important milestone not only reinforces CU Phosco’s commitment to delivering high-quality, energy-efficient lighting solutions but also marks a key step in supporting Australia's energy and sustainability goals.
The NEM Load Tables for Unmetered Connection Points serve as a critical reference for Type 7 metering installations, ensuring approved equipment meets the stringent standards required for unmetered connections within the National Electricity Market. The updated Load Tables (Version 1.158) now include CU Phosco’s floodlights, further validating their energy efficiency, reliability, and suitability for large-scale projects.
A STEP FORWARD FOR THE AUSGRID PROJECT
This inclusion follows CU Phosco Australia's successful contract win with Ausgrid for the upgrade of floodlights across their network. The FL820 and FL830 floodlights, now officially listed, are a pivotal component of this initiative, which aims to:
- Enhance energy efficiency through LED technology
- Integrate smart controls for advanced functionality, such as fault detection, optimised maintenance, and off-peak dimming
- Support future-ready smart city technologies, helping communities across the region transition to a more sustainable future
Keith Henry, General Manager of CU Phosco Australia, stated:
"The addition of our FL820 and FL830 floodlights to the NEM Load Table is a significant achievement that underscores our commitment to meeting and exceeding industry standards. This approval was crucial for the Ausgrid project, where we’re working to deliver innovative and energy-efficient lighting solutions that benefit local communities and contribute to Australia's sustainability goals."
COLLABORATING FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
The Ausgrid floodlighting upgrade programme exemplifies the transformative impact of advanced lighting technologies. Through these upgrades, Ausgrid is poised to achieve substantial reductions in energy consumption, improved maintenance efficiencies, and enhanced safety for its customers.
Jiri Heider, Council Manager – Lighting and Smart Solutions, commented:
"This project delivers numerous benefits for both the environment and local economies, including significant energy savings and improved lighting quality for our communities. By adopting innovative solutions like CU Phosco’s FL820 and FL830 floodlights, we’re shaping a brighter, greener future for Australia."
Australia’s LED lighting market continues to present immense growth opportunities, with approximately 2.3 million streetlights across the country ripe for modernisation.
