HEPER DOGO RANGE: PLAS Y BRENIN NATIONAL OUTDOOR CENTRE

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Plas Y Brenin, a vibrant national outdoor centre, is a unique location that welcomes nature enthusiasts, athletes, and adventurers throughout the day while needing to preserve its natural atmosphere at night.

However, the previous lighting system used in the area had gradually contributed to light pollution and negatively impacted the nocturnal ecosystem. Due to excessive light spill, the natural darkness of the night sky was disrupted, and the overall aesthetic balance of the environment was lost.

Taking this into consideration, a new lighting concept was specifically designed for Plas Y Brenin, integrating DOGO luminaires to mitigate light pollution.

SOLUTION

Using the DOGO range, the new system was developed in compliance with the Dark Sky concept, ensuring that light would not be unnecessarily directed toward the sky or cause harm to the natural nighttime environment.

At the same time, a precise lighting approach was implemented, illuminating only the necessary areas at the correct levels. This not only achieved optimal illumination but also reduced unnecessary energy consumption.

RESULTS & BENEFITS

DOGO is more than just a lighting product—it is a solution that makes cities more livable, safe, and sustainable.

  • Precise and Controlled Lighting: DOGO’s Dyno (DYN) reflector system provides targeted beam control, ensuring uniform illumination with minimal glare and preventing unnecessary
    light spill.
  • Energy Efficiency: Its low power consumption and high-output LED technology help reduce operational costs while supporting sustainable lighting solutions.
  • Long-Term Durability: Manufactured with corrosion-resistant die-cast aluminIum, DOGO is designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, reducing maintenance
    requirements.
  • Enhanced Visual Comfort: With its hidden light source and indirect lighting approach, it ensures a soft and balanced illumination,
improving safety and comfort in public areas.
  • Versatile Application Areas: Available in forward and side throw configurations, DOGO can be adapted to various lighting scenarios, including building entrances, walkways, façades, and parks.
  • Dark Sky Certification: By minimising unnecessary light emissions, DOGO helps cities and architects comply with sustainable lighting standards and reduce light pollution.
  • Customisable Options: DOGO offers additional features such as motion sensors and emergency kits, enhancing both efficiency and security.
