C.U. Phosco takes pride in supporting local community initiatives. Whether that's local sporting groups or charities, they're normally close to the hearts of our team.
In the past, we have supported Cleve Rugby RFC in Ware, Cinderford Town Youth FC in Coleford, and Great Horton Park Chapel Cricket Club in Westgate. This time, we're turning the spotlight on Richmond, where our Contract Services Team has committed to sponsor Richmondshire Rugby Club, Richmond Town Football Club, Richmond Motor Club and the Scott Trial.
Here's a closer look at what that involvement has been.
RICHMONDSHIRE RUGBY CLUB
Richmondshire Rugby Club (RFC) recently marked its 40th anniversary and is based in the heart of North Yorkshire. Over the years, the club has built a real sense of community, with a great spirit and a welcoming attitude that makes rugby accessible to everyone. There’s a place for people to get involved at every level, whether they’re new to the game or have been playing for years. It’s this inclusive approach, along with the club’s determination and team spirit, that makes Richmondshire such a special club.
Our sponsorship is about being part of that community, rather than simply putting our name on a shirt. We’ve supported a walking rugby event, have our banners around the pitch, and our logo features on the club’s retro kit, available to supporters online. We even have one of our own people on the pitch, with Euan Beveridge, a Highway Lighting Apprentice at our Richmond office, playing for the team.
It’s also a connection our people genuinely enjoy being part of. Members of our team regularly head along to matches to support the club, and it has become a valued part of life at our Richmond site. Being a small part of that community and supporting the club throughout the year is exactly the kind of involvement we want our sponsorships to stand for.
RICHMOND TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB
We also support Richmond Town Football Club, helping with the day-to-day costs that keep a grassroots club running, as well as advertising on the pitch hoarding. It’s a partnership that allows us to play a small but meaningful part in supporting the club and the wider local football community.
There’s also a personal connection to our team, with Felix Luck, an Apprentice at our Richmond site, playing for Richmond Town Football Club and being supported through our sponsorship. Having someone from our team involved on the pitch adds another connection to the club and the local community around our Richmond site.
RICHMOND MOTOR CLUB AND THE SCOTT TRIAL
Over the last couple of years, we've supported Richmond Motor Club's Scott Trial, one of the most historic motorcycle trials in the UK, run across the North Yorkshire Moors. It's a demanding test of both machine and rider, with steep, boggy and unforgiving off-road sections that have challenged competitors for generations.
Our contribution has been practical, supplying temporary lighting towers to light key sections of the course, helping keep riders and spectators safe as the event runs into low light. It's not a sponsorship you'll see on a shirt, but it's the kind of behind-the-scenes support that keeps a serious, historic event running safely, and it's a brilliant one to be part of, bringing the community together while raising money for good causes.
COMMUNITY AT THE CORE
This is just a snapshot of what our involvement in Richmond looks like, and it's a pattern repeated at each of our sites. From pitch-side banners to lighting towers on a moorland trial, C.U. Phosco is proud to back a real range of local communities and help grassroots clubs develop, wherever our teams are based.
Supporting local initiatives has always been at the heart of what we do at C.U. Phosco. It's how we build strong, lasting relationships and boost community spirit, small but significant ways that we continue to give back.
