As our Meet the Team series continues, this week we’re introducing Sean Jackson, a Civils and High Mast Operative working with the CU Phosco Contracts Services Team in Richmond.
WHAT IS YOUR JOB TITLE? Civils and High Mast Operative
WHAT DOES YOUR ROLE INVOLVE? I work on both the Civils and High Mast side of the Services Division. This can be anything from digging holes and laying new electrical cables to building and installing High Masts. Another part of my role is driving a HIAB wagon to install lighting columns or cages for High Mast foundations.
In recent years, a lot of my work has been on military bases, where we’ve been digging trenches, laying ducting for fibre optic cables, installing lightning protection, and building chambers.
WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE JOINING CU PHOSCO? Before CU Phosco, I worked for another contractor in street lighting. Prior to that, I was a wood machinist.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR ROLE? I really like the variety that comes with this job, the people I work with, and the opportunity to meet new people such as crane drivers and other contractors on site.
WHAT DOES CU PHOSCO MEAN TO YOU AS A COMPANY? CU Phosco is a good company to work for. They look after you, and we’re always well equipped with PPE and everything we need to do the job safely and efficiently.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING OUTSIDE OF WORK?
Outside of work, I like working on my lathe, walking, camping, and cycling whenever I get the time.
That’s Sean for supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality projects across the UK.
