As part of our ongoing “meet the team” series, we’re shining a spotlight on the people who help drive our business forward.
This time, we’re getting to know Lauren Parker - Export Administrator based at our head office in Ware, Hertfordshire. We’ll be taking a closer look not just at what her role involves, but also at the person behind the role - and what she gets up to beyond the office.
WHAT DOES YOUR ROLE ENTAIL?
“My Role involves a combination of Export administration and front of house (reception) responsibilities. On the Export side, I manage the full process of international shipments and the imports, entering sales orders and quotes, creating manual commercial invoices, and preparing all the necessary shipping and customs documentation. I also coordinate orders for specific products, such as our connected Urban 5G telecom poles. On the import side, I oversee incoming shipments- ensuring correct documentation, customs clearance, and smooth delivery to our site. I also provide day to day support for the Export managers helping to keep operations running efficiently. Each morning, I also manage reception duties – answering the phones via the switchboard, sorting incoming mail and welcoming visitors to the office.”
WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE YOU JOINED CU PHOSCO?
“Before joining the company, I worked at Tesco Head Office, where I was responsible for managing reception and the main switchboard.”
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR ROLE?
“What I enjoy most about my role is that in export, the variety and responsibility from handling orders, to preparing documents and ensuring smooth shipping. I also really enjoy working with our agents from around the world and building those international connections.”
WHAT DOES CU PHOSCO MEAN TO YOU?
“Working at the company means a lot to me because I feel like I’m not just part of a business, but part of a close-knit family. Being a family-run company, there is a strong sense of teamwork and support and I really value that.”
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING OUTSIDE OF WORK?
“Outside of work I love to go out with friends for cocktails. I also enjoy trying different restaurants; I love iced coffee, especially testing out all the seasonal specials. I enjoy a good movie night, especially thrillers and horror movies. And of course, I enjoy cheering on Jack Grealish when he does his magic on TV.”
