HI ADAM! WHAT DOES YOUR ROLE INVOLVE?
“I’m responsible for the design, development and technical support of our aluminium lighting column range, which includes Echalon® and our partnership with Nedal B.V. Aluminium. I also support customers across the UK and Ireland at every stage of a project, from the initial enquiry and early concept through to the detailed design and production to the final quotation.”
WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE JOINING C.U. PHOSCO?
“Before C.U. Phosco, I worked as a Customer Support Design Engineer for an aluminium lighting column manufacturer. That’s where I built up a lot of my experience in lighting column design and in supporting customers. My mechanical engineering degree has also been a big part of getting me to where I am today which I gained from Plymouth University.”
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR ROLE?
“I love the variety. No two projects are the same. One day I’m working through the standard structural details of a column design, and the next I’m helping a customer find the right solutions for a unique project, which pushes me to work outside the box and realm of lighting columns.
I find it really rewarding (and some may also say a little sad to be excited) to see a project go from an initial conversation with the customer, to the final installation of the columns, lighting up streets, bridges, buildings and well anywhere you might need that all important lighting.
It’s also great to work closely with customers and build relationships with them, so they know they can come to us for honest technical advice.”
WHAT DOES C.U. PHOSCO MEAN TO YOU?
“There’s a real team spirit here. Everyone is willing to share their knowledge and help each other out, and that makes a big difference when you’re working on complex projects. It’s great to be part of a company with such a long history in the lighting industry that still keeps looking for ways to innovate and push the boundaries.”
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING OUTSIDE OF WORK?
“I love the great outdoors. You’ll often find me camping out on the moors or pitching a tent by a waterfall. I’m also a Cub Scout Leader, which makes me part of the worldwide Scouting family, and I find it really rewarding to help young people try new things and build their confidence, as you watch them grow into a young adult. When I’m not camping or leading my Cub pack, I’m usually getting my adrenaline fix at a theme park!”
Thanks, Adam.
At C.U. Phosco, we’re proud to have people like Adam on our team and look forward to seeing his contributions shape the company’s future.
