CU100 at The Hundred, Lords
On Tuesday 8th August 2023 CU Phosco Lighting celebrated another CU100 event at Lords Cricket Ground with key clients, as we continued our Centenary celebrations.
The event was a great success where customers from across the UK who watched the London Spirit Cricket male and female teams play their Hundred match against Southern Brave. Although somewhat dampened by the inclement weather, we all had a fabulous day and evening.
A massive thank you to the CU Phosco Lighting team that organised this fantastic day and a huge thank you to all the clients that celebrated with us in the Tavern Hospitality suite. Clients were treated to an extra special guided tour of the famous Lords Pavilion and Long room, by our Chairman Nicholas Marques, a member of the MCC. Clients were extremely grateful to see this Cricketing world spectacle, alongside the brilliant hospitality of the Lords Tavern suite.
Kevin Ridge our ASM for South Wales and Southwest had the great pleasure of meeting with Ravi Shastri, who once played for Glamorgan, Kevin’s local side. Ravi was more commonly known as a defensive player, became the second ever cricketer to hit six sixes in an over, on 19th January 1985, Playing for Bombay against Baroda. He also completed this remarkable feat again 22 years later whilst playing in Durban.
