CU Phosco, the UK’s longest-established and leading exterior lighting manufacturer, is pleased to announce the promotion of Irina Pirtac to the role of Lighting Design Manager, just short of her two-year anniversary with the company.
Irina joined CU Phosco in 2024 as a Lighting Designer, bringing with her nearly 20 years of experience in the lighting industry. Having begun her career in 2006, she has worked in lighting design for 8 years, building an extensive portfolio across commercial, logistics, industrial, architectural, and street lighting projects. Since joining CU Phosco, she has played a pivotal role in evolving the Lighting Design department, introducing new ways of working, guiding her colleagues, and helping to grow the team’s expertise.
In her new role, Irina will oversee the Lighting Design team, working closely with colleagues Catie and Lee, and reporting to Paul Carter, Technical Manager. With CU Phosco’s design workload expanding, her leadership ensures the department continues to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions for customers across the UK and internationally.

Alongside her practical experience, Irina has completed Advanced Lighting Design modules in both interior and exterior lighting with the Lighting Industry Association. She is now working towards her Exterior Lighting Design Diploma with the Institution of Lighting Professionals.
