CU Phosco will be returning to Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona from 2–5 March 2026, where we’ll be showcasing our latest developments in multi-functional smart pole infrastructure designed to support the next generation of urban connectivity.
You’ll find the CU Phosco team exhibiting within the British Pavilion, Hall 7, Stand 7C1, alongside other leading UK specialists.
WHY MWC MATTERS
MWC is the world’s largest and most influential event for connectivity, bringing together mobile network operators, local authorities, infrastructure owners, and technology providers from across the globe. As cities look to increase digital capacity without adding visual clutter, lighting and street infrastructure are increasingly being recognised as a practical and accepted platform for deploying new services.
Our presence at MWC reflects the growing role that multi-purpose lighting infrastructure can play in enabling network densification, improving coverage, and supporting future data-driven services at street level.
CONNECTED URBAN SMART POLES
At the event, we’ll be showcasing our Connected Urban smart pole range, engineered specifically for complex urban environments where space is limited and planning sensitivity is critical.
Connected Urban integrates lighting, telecommunications equipment, power, sensors and future-ready connectivity into a single, compact structure. This approach allows operators and municipalities to deploy multiple services from one familiar piece of street infrastructure, reducing the need for additional standalone assets while maintaining a high standard of urban design.
A HERITAGE IN TELECOMS INFRASTRUCTURE
Our work in multi-functional street infrastructure is built on more than 40 years of experience supporting the global telecommunications sector. Since the early 1980s, CU Phosco has designed and manufactured monopole structures used across rural and semi-urban environments to support mobile networks, from early 2G rollouts through to today’s advanced 5G deployments.
This long-standing heritage means we understand both the structural demands of telecoms equipment and the practical realities of deploying infrastructure in the public realm. Today, that experience underpins our smart pole designs, helping bridge the gap between traditional telecoms assets and modern smart city requirements.
GLOBAL DEPLOYMENT AND COLLABORATION
With new installations progressing across Europe and beyond, MWC provides an opportunity to share updates on recent deployments and discuss opportunities for international collaboration. We continue to work closely with network operators, local authorities and delivery partners to support the practical rollout of smart infrastructure at street level.
If you’re attending MWC 2026, we’d be delighted to see you at the British Pavilion, Hall 7, Stand 7C1. Whether you’re at the early planning stage, looking to scale existing networks, or exploring new infrastructure models, our team will be on hand to talk through your requirements.
