CELEBRATING 20 YEARS AT C.U. PHOSCO – CLIVE LOWRY
As part of our ongoing series celebrating long‑serving colleagues, we are proud to recognise a fantastic milestone for one of our valued team members. This time, we sat down with Clive Lowry, a dedicated member of our factory workforce based at our Ware, Hertfordshire site. Clive joined C.U. Phosco on 30 January 2006.
CONGRATULATIONS, CLIVE! 20 YEARS IS A HUGE ACHIEVEMENT! BEFORE WE JUMP INTO YOUR CAREER JOURNEY, COULD YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR ROLE?
I am a member of the factory workforce mainly working on floodlights. My role involves working day to day in the factory, mainly focusing on floodlight products and supporting the general manufacturing process as part of the wider factory team.
WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE YOU JOINED C.U. PHOSCO?
Before joining C.U. Phosco, I worked for Sainsbury's at the Rye Park depot for 6 and a half years. During that time, I gained experience working in a busy environment before moving into my role at C.U. Phosco.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR ROLE?
For me, the most enjoyable thing about my job is seeing how lighting and technology has changed over the years from HID lights to LED. Being able to see these changes happen over time and be part of that development has been interesting.
WHAT DOES C.U. PHOSCO MEAN TO YOU?
I feel like we have a close-knit team who support each other when needed. It feels like everyone works together, helps one another out, and is there when support is needed, which makes it a good place to work.
AND FINALLY, WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING OUTSIDE OF WORK?
I am a keen coin and banknote collector. I enjoy looking for coins either online or sometimes at markets and doing some research on them. I like finding out more about where they come from and learning about their history.
