Lighting Column Height Range Benefits

Fixed Head Mast

Floodpoles - 8 - 18m

High Mast - 15 - 60m

Both systems have a high head load capacity for larger numbers of floodlights.  High masts tend to be stadia specific whereas floodpoles provide a competitive solution but have no ability to lower.  Access for maintenance must be considered when looking at a static floodpole.

Hydraulic Base Hinged

10 -18m

Maintenance performed at ground level.  Provides easier and more affordable maintenance. Hydraulic raise and lower tool required for lowering in a safe and controlled manner.  Head loading capabilities higher than that of the mid hinged.

Mid Hinged

4m - 18m

Maintenance performed at ground level.  Counterbalanced to ensure safe manual lowering.  Head loading restrictions due to balance but does provide easier and more affordable maintenance.  No cost implications for an additional raise and lower tool as the column has an integral lowering device.  Hinge cannot be released without access through the column door.

Raise and Lower

15 - 50m

Maintenance performed at ground level.  High head loading capacity over a vast range of heights.  Head is lowered by a electrical winch system from the base of the column.  Easy and safe solution to lower multiple floodlights on a ring formation.
